New York City: Day 3 - Soho, Greenwich Village, Lower East Side etc

Hi Guys,

We had originally planned for today to be our day in Central Park but with the storm set to make its final appearance through the day we thought we'd swap our days around.

Today we wandered around Soho, Greenwich Village, the Lower East Side and more and as it was 4th July it was a lot less busy than I presume it would have normally been so it was lovely to walk around.

The first stop of the day was a visit to the building that is used for the shots of the apartment building in Friends. Myself and the friend I went with our massive Friends fans so we really wanted to see it.

Then, after getting quite lost (google maps saved the day) we ended up at Carrie Bradshaw's house!

Just down the road is the famous Magnolia Bakery where Carrie and Miranda sit outside for about one minute in one episode, and the bakery ended up iconic!
Of course we got a cupcake and when there's Red Velvet on offer I especially don't say no.
I had the red velvet cupcake with vanilla frosting - I think it's the best cupcake I've ever had!

Want a way to make your sisters jealous? Send them a picture of you eating a cupcake...they weren't very happy!

We then headed into Soho for shopping time (my favourite) to get out of the rain which was now pouring!
My hauls will be going up next week and will be split into three parts, so keep your eyes peeled.

After I was shopped out, we headed through China Town into the Lower East Side for one specific thing, a visit to Doughnut Planet. Of course as it was the 4th July they had closed early so it was a wasted trip which ended up with us being soaked through. However we did stop at a pizza shop for a delicious slice of pizza.

We decided to head back to the hotel to freshen up as we were heading to Downtown Manhattan for the 4th July fireworks.

The Macy's firework display were the best fireworks I've ever seen and the atmosphere was electric. We were stood on a bridge overlooking the Hudson River and Brooklyn watching the sunset with Americans and tourists and it was spectacular. The noise bouncing off the buildings was unbelievable, I had such a great night.

Top: Primark (bought especially for this day)
Shorts: Peacocks
Hoody: New Look

It was the end to a lovely day!
Get ready for day 4
Thanks for reading
